Overview
"Amadeus CARE" (Client Administration & Reporting Extranet) is a complex ERP application, dedicated to the management of internal flow of documents, as well as to the client reporting system within the Amadeus tourism network.
Client
The Amadeus IT Group is the global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry. Amadeus solutions and services are used by Amadeus clients in various ways. Over 90000 of tourist agencies and approximately 30000 points of sale owned by airlines use the Amadeus system to conduct their business.
The Romanian Branch, Amadeus Romania is also a leader in Romania through online distribution channels and IT solutions provided to its customers. With 20 years worth of experience and a market share of over 70%, Amadeus Romania provides services for large groups of clients such as air companies, hotels, car rental companies, railway companies, ferry lines, cruise lines, insurance companies and tourism agencies.
Challenge
The main challenge was developing a solution capable of fully integrating the complexity and diversity of activities generated by the Amadeus business model. In essence, we identified the need to incorporate internal processes from diverse technological categories such as distribution and content, sales and e-commerce, business management and consultancy services.
Resolution
The particular modality in which the Zitec team has designed and developed the "Amadeus CARE" system successfully meets the requirements of both Amadeus and its network of clients and partners for increased productivity, communication and business process management.
Intranet
The Client Administration System, strictly dedicated to the Amadeus staff is the centerpiece structure of the "Amadeus CARE" application.
Through this platform, Amadeus employees can understand, store and track in a simple, efficient and reliable way, large data sets and information about customers - travel agencies, airlines, hotels, companies that are part of the Amadeus distribution channel. Amadeus employees can also handle informative materials, such as training sessions, newsletters, support activities for customers as well as other facilities for internal activity.
Furthermore, the application allows the administration of industry-specific activities, such as ticket-selling system (paper and electronic format) based on Amadeus' software solutions, along with the management of a complex reservations system for a wide range of booking categories (airlines, hotels, cars, railway, ferry, etc).
The Amadeus business scheme produces a series of costs and revenues related to the provision of hardware, software licenses, and Internet connection, "one-time" specific costs as well as maintenance and storage costs. In order to satisfy the need of a flexible, performance-driven management of costs and revenues generated by the Amadeus transactions, the "Amadeus CARE" information system has integrated a mechanism for generating reports and statistics, allowing a daily update of data, and the generation and publication of detailed forecasts.
An essential element of "Amadeus CARE", and a nationwide premiere in the Amadeus network, is the implementation of a complex financial billing system. Through this special module, Amadeus employees can generate and handle, at a high level of productivity, complex billing reports for different categories of services and products provided by the Amadeus company to its clients.
The efficiency and reliability of this invoice system allows the Amadeus company to achieve superior performance, measured through a real-time productivity evaluation of each client, the handling of a wide variety of invoices and, last but not least, the automation of statistics for a variety of factors, leading to the reduction in manual errors and increased revenue.
Extranet
The Extranet Reporting System, the second important structural element of the "Amadeus CARE" application is dedicated to the use of Amadeus clients and partners.
The Zitec team's objective was to create a user-friendly interface that allows for quick access to data and a secure information transfer between client and supplier, without requiring any advanced knowledge from the user's side.
In this section, Amadeus customers and partners can access the most recent information about Amadeus' services and products: industry news, newsletters, statistics (bookings productivity, issued tickets etc), surveys, also the training documentation and other useful materials for their activity.
Results
The "Amadeus CARE" application, a first-of-its-kind in the Amadeus Group, greatly contributed to the sustained growth of the Amadeus business by offering a long-term sustainability, superior functionality, uniform management, easy upgrading and open assistance to its clients over the entire business cycle.
